Troy

What an abysmal waste of time.

Acting, direction, script, even the battle sequences -- they were all utterly awful.

How can you assemble all that money, all those actors (Peter O'Toole? Robert Cox? These guys should know better), and all that historical research, and still churn out a bloated turdfest with soap opera dialogue?

At best this is a poor man's Gladiator -- at worst it's Beverly Hills 90210 Reunion, Rumble on the Aegean Sea.

Oh, most *certainly* agreed! My one joy was LadyDame Julie Christie who was flown in for a week to give it a bit of gravitas, and ended up splashing around in a rock pool for ten minutes.

A waste, say I! A waste!

I am of the non Brad Pitt loving fan club and expected this to be a bomb...boring. But they spent lots and lots and lots of money, so it HAS to be good, right?

Welcome to the blog world!

I haven't seen it, but here's a small portion of what a friend of mine had to say about it:

"troy" however takes good material - nay excellent, classic material - marinates it in a big ol' bucket of suck and charges me $8 for the privilege of watching it. first of all, the writers have managed to reduce one of the greatest treasures of western literature to the following:

woman: (crying) please, don't go to war.
man: but i must go to war.
enter war
(repeat 3x)
